Travel itinerary

1. Day: Arrival Belgrade

Arrival and transfer to our hotel in Belgrade. Dinner and overnight in Belgrade.

2. Day: Belgrade

During our full day city tour, we see the highlights of the Serbian capital. Among other things the landmark of the city, the Belgrade Fortress, villas from different eras, some of the countless churches as well as the most beautiful parks of the city. Dinner and overnight in Belgrade.

3. Day: Belgrade – Nis – Skopje

After breakfast we leave Belgrade in a southerly direction. We stop in the city of Nis, where the unique fortress with its hammam, mosque and amphitheater await us. After the lunch break, we continue to the Macedonian border and to Skopje. Dinner and overnight in Skopje.

4. Day: Skopje

After breakfast we will undertake a detailed city tour of the Macedonian capital. Skopje fascinates with a variety of architecture. Especially worth seeing is the Muslim quarter with its huge bazaar. Of course, the Fortress of Kale should not be missed as well as the "modern" Skopje on the other side of the river Vardar. In the afternoon drive to the Matka Canyon, where a unique natural spectacle awaits us. In the evening a typical Macedonian dinner with traditional music awaits us. Overnight in Skopje.

5. Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Debar - Ohrid

In the morning we leave the capital and drive first to the Mavrovo area. Unique natural landscapes with numerous 2000 m peaks accompany us. We reach the town of Debar, where we can have lunch. The route continues via Struga to the UNESCO city of Ohrid. Here we move into our hotel for the next two nights. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid.

6. Day: Ohrid

Today we spend the day in this unique city. We start the sightseeing with a small boat trip on the Ohrid Lake, one of the deepest lakes in the world. The church of St. John is probably the best eye catcher, here we leave the boat and walk through the old town, we see the Fortress of Samuel and numerous churches and monasteries. Around Ohrid there are more than 365 of them. In the afternoon, time for a stroll or simply to relax on the lakeside. Dinner and overnight in Ohrid.

7. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum – Brajcino - Bitola

First, we drive to St. Naum. We take a romantic rowboat ride on a small lake that feeds the Ohrid lake through underground springs. Then we visit the unique monastery of St. Naum, near the Albanian border. Afterwards we leave Lake Ohrid and drive to Brajcino, famous for its nature tourism. A short hike along the wild rivers shows us the uniqueness of this region near the Greek border. After an optional refreshment drive to the city of Bitola, once the most important city in the country during the Ottoman period. Numerous pompous buildings as well as the lovely pedestrian zone enchant us. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Bitola.

8. Day: Bitola – Prilep - Strumica

In the morning we leave Bitola and first visit the "hanging monastery" in Prilep, built into the rocks like a bird's nest. At noon a wine tasting awaits us in the surroundings of Kavadarci. Macedonia is a famous wine country. Afterwards we continue our journey to our hotel in Berovo. Dinner and overnight in the Berovo area.

9. Day: Strumica – Rila – Sofia

In the morning visit of the famous waterfalls near Strumica. Afterwards drive to the Bulgarian border. Another highlight of the trip today is a visit to the famous Rila Monastery, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the evening we reach our hotel in the Sofia area. Dinner and overnight.

10. Day: Sofia – Belgrade

In the morning a detailed sightseeing tour in the Bulgarian capital, the landmark of the city, the Alexander Nevski Cathedral should not be missing. Afterwards we slowly start our journey home. Drive to the Serbian border and on to our hotel in Belgrade. Dinner and overnight.

11. Day: Belgrade – Departure

Transfer to the airport.
