Slovenia – Compact, full of contrasts, almost impossible to grasp

Slovenia is one of the smallest countries in Europe – and at the same time one of the most diverse.
Between the Alps and the Adriatic, the Pannonian Plain and the karst landscape, lies a region where the major regions of Europe converge in a small area. Alpine passes, vineyards, cave systems, and Mediterranean coastal towns are rarely more than an hour's drive apart. In between: cities steeped in history, thermal springs, and tranquility.

Ljubljana – Light, green and European

The capital city of Ljubljana surprises with its lightness. Baroque and Art Nouveau styles characterize the old town, while modern architecture and street cafes line the banks of the Ljubljanica River. Slovenia's largest city doesn't feel like a capital – but rather like a tidy artists' quarter: compact, friendly, and green.

The castle, the market square, the national museum, but also the local restaurants have a lot to tell – and never impose themselves.

Bled, Bohinj & the Julian Alps – Alpine, clear and accessible

The Julian Alps The northwest of Slovenia boasts some of its most spectacular natural scenery:
Bled with its famous lake and island church, Bohinj with its tranquil shores and mountain panorama, and Triglav National Park with peaks over 2,800 meters high, waterfalls and mountain streams.

Hiking trails, via ferratas and scenic mountain roads make the region ideal for active travelers – or for guests who prefer to observe nature rather than traverse it.

Caves, karst & the green hinterland

Slovenia's underworld is just as impressive as its mountains: Postojna Cave and the Škocjan Caves are among the most impressive karst caves in Europe. Accessible, well-organized, and yet breathtaking – even for groups with diverse interests.

In between: vineyards, stone walls, olive groves – a landscape that feels Mediterranean without being loud.

Coast & Culture – Piran, Portorož & the Adriatic in a nutshell

Slovenia's coastline measures just 47 kilometers – and yet: it has everything it needs.

Piran, with its Venetian streets and squares, looks like a miniature version of Trieste or Rovinj.

Portorož, more sophisticated and elegant, invites you to see and be seen. The pace can be changed in no time between the two places – from strolling through the old town to a walk on the beach, from gelato to a concert stage.

 Wellness, culinary delights, wine

Slovenia is quiet when it comes to food – but that's precisely its charm. The wines are honest, mineral, and often organic. The cuisine combines Alpine, Pannonian, and Mediterranean influences: hearty, aromatic, and precise.

And: Slovenia is a thermal spa country. Dozens of thermal and health resorts offer opportunities for combined health, wellness or culinary trips – many of them situated in beautiful natural surroundings.

Slovenia – a country waiting to be discovered

Anyone who has overlooked Slovenia so far should reconsider immediately. It's a country that offers so much in a small area. Ideal for group trips with an appreciation for culture, history, nature, and a touch of the exotic.
