Travel itinerary

1. Day: Budva-Becici

Transfer from the airport of Podgorica or Dubrovnik to our hotel in Budva-Becici.

2. Day: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Budva

Today we visit the former capital and seat of the former King Cetinje. We visit the royal residence, the old government house as well as the famous monastery. Then the biggest art gallery of ex-Yugoslavia expects us where among other things also the icon Mother of God by Filermos is kept . Afterwards journey by a picturesque scenery in the original village Njegusi where we can taste the famous Njegusi ham, cheese, wine or also the honey wine of the old Slavs. Over the spectacularly Lovcenstreet we come back to our hotel in Budva. Dinner and overnight in Budva.

3. Day: Budva – Kotor – Perast – Budva

At the present day we will visit the best known medieval town of Montenegro. Kotor is an UNESCO-world cultural heritage and enchants us with her charm, the narrow alleys and places. With the town guidance we see important constructions like the cathedral of the Holy Triphon, the church of Holy Lukas, the Napoleon's theater and of course also the medieval town walls. From Kotor we go by the boat by the nicest bay of the Mediterranean Sea up to the baroque city of Perast. In the way we visit the island of Maria of the rock. In the afternoon return to the hotel in Budva. Dinner and overnight in Budva.

4. Day: Budva – bar – Ulcinj – Shkodra

In the morning journey to the city of bar. Here an old Turkish bazaar and a market with mainly olive products expects us, because the region is known for its olives. We will also see one of three oldest olive trees of the world, this is already more than 2000 years old. Then it further goes in the city of Ulcinj, one of the oldest settlements of Montenegro. Already the Greeks and also the Romans settled here. In the 15th century pirate's town arises a peculiar mixture of different culture mosques, churches, clock towers... Then we visit the longest beach of the country and the close river island Ada Bojana situated near the Albanian border. Afterwards we cross the Albanian border and go to our hotel in the region of Shkodra. Dinner and overnight in Shkodra. 

5. Day: Shkodra – Kruja – Tirana - Durres

After the breakfast we leave Shkodra and go southward to Kruja. Here inspection of the stronghold and the museum of the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg under the Kruja once the Epicenter of the legendary Albanian defensive fight against the Otto manic rule was. Visit on the traditional bazaar. At noon we undertake the second leg of the journey to Tirana, after arrival a town inspection. Dinner and overnight in Durres 

6. Day: Durres – Berat – Ohrid

In the morning journey in the town Berat, UNESCO-world cultural heritage. The „town of thousand windows" is the best preserved historical town of Albania. Town walk by the typical quarter "Mangalemi" with visit of the ethnographic museum. Afterwards we climb up to the fortress district with his churches and the cathedral and visit the Onufri museum with icons of an Albanian painter. The second leg of the journey to the Macedonian border and to our hotel in Ohrid. Here a typically Macedonian dinner with music expects us. Overnight in Ohrid. 

7. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum

We spend this day in this unique town. We begin the inspection with a small boat trip in the Ohrid lake, one of the deepest lakes of the world. The church of holy John is probably the best eye-catcher, here we leave the ship and it goes on foot to the Old Town, we see the fortress of Samuel and numerous churches and monasteries. All around Ohrid are more than 365 of it. In the afternoon we undertake a romantic journey by an oar boat on a small lake which feeds the Ohrid lake by subterranean springs. Afterwards inspection of the unique monastery of Sveti Naum, near the Albanian border.

8. Day: Ohrid – Mavrovo – Tetovo – Skopje

Via the national park Mavrovo we go to Tetovo. Here we visit the „colored mosque", before we further go to our hotel in the Macedonian capital of Skopje. Dinner and overnight in Skopje. 

9. Day: Skopje - Transfer to the airport

After the breakfast we undertake a detailed town inspection of the Macedonian capital. Skopje fascinates with a variety of architecture. Especially worth seeing the Muslim quarter with his gigantic bazaar. The fortress Kale, the huge oriental bazaar and the Mother-Teresa-House are highlights of this tour. Afterwards transfer to the airport of Skopje and journey home.
